RETREAT
Reverend Michael John Witt is associate professor of Church History at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. He holds a Ph.D, in Modern European History from Saint Louis University and an M.Div. from Kenrick-Glennon. He is a frequent speaker on various Catholic topics, author of two books and currently constructing a 180-part audio series on Catholic Church history. The project though incomplete, is archived at www.michaeljohnwitt.com. Fr. Witt served the Church as a Christian Brother for twenty-two years teaching in Tulsa, St. Louis, and Memphis. After priestly ordination in 1990 he served in the St. Louis Archdiocese as associate pastor, pastor and Director of Continuing Formation of Priests. In the past he has conducted retreats in St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans.
GOOD FRIDAY DAY OF REFLECTION "What Was He thinking?"
The Mysteries of Jesus' Passion What can be learned from Jesus' prayer during his passion
and death as seen in the Gospel narratives? Some reflections on Jesus' love,
silence, compassion and humility during His trial and Crucifixion will be
shared. THE PRESENTERS: Sr. Paulette Patritti, OP is a member of the Sparkill Dominican Sisters who has ministered as teacher, administrator, retreat director, and spiritual director and is now executive director of the retreat center. Fr. Jose Ramirez, SM of the Marianist community at Marycliff and member of the retreat center Youth Team, has served in teaching and administration, in hospital chaplaincy, marriage encounter, and in directing retreats and spiritual direction. PREACHED RETREAT Fr. Michael Witt Offering: $350 "Our First Love Remembered" reflects on our vocational call, be it to Religious Life, priesthood, marriage, etc. Pope John Paul II called our personal calling an entering into an "inexpressible dialogue" between God and the called. DIRECTED RETREAT A Directed Retreat is a quiet, private retreat. Each retreatant will have one of the directors listed above. If you have a preference for a director, please indicate this on your application. Each retreatant will have an individual conference with a director each day. There will be daily Eucharist for the group. The retreat is for 7 days. However, if you cannot make the entire retreat you may make it for 3, 4 or 5 days. The cost is $54 per day. If you are making the retreat for less than 7 days please indicate this on your registration form. The retreat will begin on Sunday, July 26 with dinner at
5:30 pm. It will end with lunch on Sunday, August 2.
